Lili, once he'd stepped aside, immediately bent slightly to delicately sniff one of the blossoms. They were so pretty and delicate. A happy blush had come to her cheeks, one that she wasn't aware of, but it brought a sparkle to her eyes and contrasted prettily with the color of her skin.
"Bring some home...? Oh, I'd love to... but... oh, but Lord Bonnefoy..." Immediately, Sarah's eyes flashed to Lili. She didn't like the way this was seeming to head. "Won't we... won't there be some sort of trouble for taking the park's flowers?" She didn't want to be told that she couldn't come back... even if Luddy would just argue them around to letting her again. She was almost certain of that.
Sarah was entirely certain that the best course of action would be to get Lili out of this park and away from this nobleman as soon as possible. Soon enough, they'd be exchanging permission to dispense with titles and solely use their given names.

Still smiling indulgently, Francis shook his head. Even if someone dared to reprimand him for tampering with park property - which he wasn't, since the park was public - Francis could only hint at his identity and everything would smooth itself over. And it wasn't as if he was destroying the flowers; in fact, not only would the park gain a new patron, but the flowers would have a chance at a better place to be displayed.
"No, dear girl, don't concern yourself with such things." Francis clucked his tongue. "The park is for everyone, is it not? Then these flowers are for everyone - for you."
Francis glided over to Lili, fingering the petals with great care. He himself would love some of these to brighten his nightstand...
"And honestly, don't you think that these would look better in someone's home, where it would liven up the space, rather than being tucked away and hidden here?"

Lili returned her gaze to the flowers. She already knew which she'd take, given the chance and the permission. "J-Ja, I suppose..." The park was for everyone... then the flowers were too... it made sense, truly it did, but Lili was always concerned about the thoughts and feelings of others.
When he stood next to her, she looked up at him, following his fingers on the flower up to his face. She was still uncertain, but again, his words made sense. She did think that they were silly to have tucked such lovely flowers so far from the path... it would be lovely to show these to people and explain where she'd found such lovely blooms. These were far brighter than any peony she had in her garden.
"W-well, j-ja... but... but you are certain that we won't get into trouble?"

It was adorable how Lili worried over such a small matter, especially with her face frowning slightly. Such a sweet girl, Francis thought with great affection. His smile became gentler.
"My dear, remember that you are a noble," Francis pointed out. "Even if there are rules in this park about this - which I'm sure do not exist, at least in practice - you will always be exempted from it."
He reached down and patted Lili's hand. It was hard to miss the spark in her eyes whenever the blooms caught her gaze. Really, how could anyone deny her this one simple thing?
"Do not trouble yourself with it," repeated Francis. "I can see how much you long to bring some flowers home. And if I'm not mistaken, the way they brightened indicates that they feel the same."

Yes, yes, she knew she was a noble, but that didn't make breaking rules right at all. All the same... if there were rules about flowers, here, Francis would know. He wouldn't suggest that she do something to get her into trouble... Ludwig would have made sure of that by now.
"I... I don't have anything that I could cut the stems with... it's too cruel to the flowers to break them..." She finally murmured, her fingers delicately tracing the petals of one of the flowers she'd already chosen. And she wouldn't try to tear them from the plant, either. She didn't have the strength to do so... and even if she had, a clean cut was always so much nicer.
"S-so I suppose it's silly to have even worried about it..." Her voice was soft. She wouldn't ask Francis if he carried a blade with him.

Francis held up a hand as he straightened, his reassuring smile growing wider. In a grand gesture, he pulled on the carved gold handle of his smooth cane and unsheathed a sharp, needle-thin saber.
"Always prepared for anything," said Francis with a wink. He surveyed the flowers, trying to search out the best and most beautiful blossoms.
"Well then, Lady Lili. You must let me know which flowers you choose so that I may take them neatly for you."

Lili paused in what she was going to say next, and tilted her head. What was... "Oh!" She gasped, surprised. She would never have suspected that... that was a novel idea for the young noblewoman, the thought that men could hide swords inside canes...
The wink had a faint tinge of pink coming to her cheeks again. "J-Ja... C-Cousin tells me that I ought to be as well..." But she didn't like guns because they could and would hurt people... why would she like blades any better? She lightly bit the inside of her lip as she surveyed the blooms again, still a little unsure about the idea of taking flowers that belonged in a park, but hesitantly touched three blooms. "Dieser hier, und dieses eine, und dies. (This one, and this one, and this.)"

Francis nodded and approached each indicated flower, taking great care in severing their stems. Holding them delicately, he presented them to Lili with a bow. He made sure that the blade was behind him in order not to risk hurting the girl.
"Things of great beauty belong with a greatly beautiful person," he said. He raised himself from his bow and turned back to the flowers. "Any more you would like? A full bouquet would make an even better souvenir, I'm sure."
Among the sea of pink petals, a peony with faintly lavender petals stood, nearly hidden by its pink companions. Francis strode toward it with a smile and gently pushed away the other flowers from it, revealing its unusual color.
"How about this little one?"

Lili couldn't help but blush again as Francis bowed to her, offering her the flowers and saying the things he did. It was maddening to Sarah, who could, in all honesty, find nothing outwardly wrong with this situation... she just didn't like it.
Lili, who couldn't read Sarah's thoughts - and this was probably a good thing, reached for the flowers, taking them gently and bringing them to her face to smell their delicate fragrance. He was right in having thought that flowers made the girl happy... the smile that was on her face was both bright and serene. "N-nein... these are... " But she trailed off as he revealed the lavender peony, her head tilting. "I... I've never seen one quite that color before, Lord Bonnefoy." She admitted, curious. She did... well, one oughtn't have everything they wished for. Then they'd just... but it was lavender. Lavender which was a shade of purple which was one of her favorite colors...
"D-Do you suppose anyone would mind...?" She finally asked, still hesitant about taking many more. To get her to take a full bouquet would take quite a bit of persuasion.

Francis chuckled lightly, shaking his head. "My dear, no one would dare punish you for something that makes you happy." His fingers twirled the hilt of his saber, letting the blade glint in the light. "If someone does, well...I can take care of that problem easily."
He bent down and cupped the lavender peony lightly, tilting it to face Lili. "I can see you want this," he went on. "It too lovely to abandon, my dear. It would be the crown jewel in your bouquet."
Francis placed his saber against the stem of the bloom, looking up at Lili expectantly. All he needed was her say and he would take it for her.
