It was getting late, but Yao's work wasn't done yet. He'd been working with his guild all day, and just switched over to his cover job. Running the tavern and serving simple meals and drinks to the customers coming in during the night after coming from the bar or wherever else. He never asked. Mostly because he honestly didn't care.
As long as they paid, he didn't give a rat's ass about where the customers came from.
Yao stretched and started cooking up some easy meals. The people coming in were never of the higher class, so they were happy with a simple bowl of rice or a sandwich. He had cheap prices too, but that was because his thieving business was such a success. Nobody had caught him, and he was determined on keeping it that way.
Luckily most of the customers never bothered him. There had been maybe... one or two who'd actually tried to hit on him, but they'd been wasted, so he blamed that.
So far only an older pirate had come in and was sitting in the corner with a beer and a bowl of rice. Yao himself was relaxing behind the counter after cleaning and cooking a little. He'd brought an old sketchbook with him, just drawing a little bit in it for fun.

"Fuck this shit." Valerio sighed as he opened the door to the old tavern on the docks. His day at work had been filled with angry customers and his colleagues were all blockheads. They could never do their work right, and when he told them how to do it, they wouldn't understand. Stupid people.
Also, he had tried to hit on this really cute blond girl. She had been the prettiest girl in the bar, and she did seem to want to go home with him for a while. But then.. her boyfriend, or husband.. or whatever. Huge bear of a man, ugly as hell. Valerio knew he didn't stand a chance again such a bulldozer, so he decided to leave the place and go somewhere else. He had been drinking quite a bit, so he didn't know where else to go than the old tavern. He had been there before, but only to get some cheap food and then leave again.
"Can I get.. food?" He asked the girl, or boy.. he didn't know. He didn't have a lot of money right now, and this place was known for its cheap and good food. It wasn't Italian, but it would work for now.

Yao looked at the man who'd come in. Or boy. Whatever, he seemed young. But as long as he paid he didn't care. Instead of saying anything, he put a bowl of rice and vegetables in front of the other. The kid looked like he'd been drinking.... a lot. And he didn't seem to be in the best of moods either.
"....Rough day?" he asked, not even sure why.

"Hell yeah.." Valerio didn't mean to curse so much, but when he was in a bad mood he couldn't help himself. He just had to get out his frustration, one way or another. He took the bowl of rice and the chopsticks, and started to eat. It was good, eating something after all that wine and liqour. He could hold his alcohol, but not when he also had strong emotions running through his body. Either way, anger, happiness, love.. It would all burst if he drank too much.
"Stupid blondie. What's wrong with blond girls, eh?" Valerio said, looking at the person behind the counter.

"I wouldn't know." Yao said, not really looking at him, focusing on his drawing. He mostly drew women. They were easy to draw, and he liked the femininity they showed in his drawings. As long as the other didn't start any trouble, he was free to stay.
"Aren't women in general challenging?"

Valerio ate some more of his rice, ignoring the vegetables. He didn't want them, not right now. He was afraid that his stomach, already filled with alcohol, wouldn't handle it very well. And the last thing he wanted was to throw up.
"They're standing there, so tall and pretty. But they're all bitches.. Yeah, brunettes are better. They don't act like they own the bar just because of their hair-color, and their stupid bodybuilder-boyfriend." He added the thing about boyfriends with an angry whisper. God he hated those massive men with their brains filled with air. Why did those girls even like them? They had to be just as stupid, or even worse.

He had to chuckle a little at that comment about the bodybuilder-boyfriends. Yao had experienced that trouble twice in his tavern, but he'd kicked them out both times before it got too bad. And maybe Valerio had a point... The most beautiful women did tend to play on their looks to get what they wanted, more than the other women.
In his mind they were less attractive than the women just being themselves and able to get through life without needing to use their body for everything. It was a little sad... They could possess a lot of other qualities that would be better than the body. Why didn't they use their brains?

Valerio sighed and put his head on the desk, and his arms straight forward, trying to relax. "Stupid girls.." He almost cried into the desk. He felt bad, really bad. Why did he even go here? He should have gone home to his bed instead, try to get some sleep. He had to work tomorrow, and he knew where this was going. A really nice hangover.
"Can I have some water?" He asked. He hadn't even noticed that the man hadn't answered any of his questions. But he didn't care, Valerio was glad he would listen.

"Of course." Yao filled up a glass and put it down in front of the other. That should help, at least a little bit. The poor guy looked like a mess.
"....We have a few rooms if you need to rest." He pointed out. It wasn't exactly an inn, but it had a second floor where there were places to sleep for people who needed it. Just for one night though.
