Arthur Kirkland
° N-ame || Arthur Kirkland
° A-liases || Captain, Kirkland, Artie, 'Brows'*, 'The Red Magician', 'Red Lion'
° A-ge || 23
° G-ender || Male
° F-amily || Non known.
° E-ye color || Green
° H-air color || Blonde
° H-eight || 5'7
° W-eight || 145 pounds
° D-efining features || He's rather pale, though usually has an earring stud in one ear. And thick eyebrows, of course.
° A-dditional features || He's a pirate and while he does enjoy dressing 'up' in treasures he gets ahold of, when he's onshore and within the cities of Atheros he may go in disguise or in very modest clothing in order to not be noticed. He's also incredibly handy with a bow and arrow, so the point it's almost a part of him, but a sword/gun is a lot easier to do the job usually.
° J-ob || Pirate
° R-eason for current profession || See History.
° D-istrict || N/A
° P-ersonality || Arthur Kirkland is the most loud-mouthed, rude, impatient, dastardly person you will ever come across, but also the most polite gentleman there is on this side of Atheros' society. Elegant, rather graceful but rather blunt and to the point, Arthur Kirkland doesn't like to mess about. By reputation, rumour and general appearance The Captain is cunning and can manipulate you at will, if you're on the wrong side of him. He's feared by many who've heard the rumours, but if you ever get the chance to talk to him personally he can be incredibly polite, and almost seem gentle. Many people are wary for him of this, for they're not sure of what the man is truly like. That's rather the point of his actions.
On a more personal note, Arthur holds immense authority over people he manages to get in his favour; he does also have a more sensitive side, a side where he's aware no one knows about it. This tends to be seen most if he's ever involved with Children or even women. This is also backed up by the fact that he runs operations of the people he loots or ruins - a lot of the time the riches may be estowed to the families struck in poverty, in order to give them a chance to live. Just about all of his crew are unknown to these operations, and if any of them do know, then it's not known who they are or why they have access to this information. Arthur's reputation is greatly known throughout Atheros as a Pirate.
Upon meeting The Captain, he can come across as either two things: He can either be aggressive, rude, mean, cruel and overall someone you want to avoid or run away from - or, he could be polite, sympathetic and nothing but a gentleman. These sorts of differences cause people to have mixed opinions and rumours about him, which overall makes him more of a figure to be wary of, since no one is quite sure of his motives or his own desires, or even if he has any.
Arthur often hides in disguises or will wear modest clothing when he's in the cities in order to avoid being spotted, especially when he's out for a drink. He can be very good at drawing out information and rumours, even learning more about the person if he meets them himself. He can be a frequent dweller in the black market, and can take joy in figuring out who's conning others and making them pay. He's essentially a smug git.
People who have had the chance to meet him have called him rather erratic at times and unpredictable, especially when he's had a few drinks - that can be when he's best avoided.

° H-istory ||
Arthur lived a lonely childhood. He has no known family, he can't remember them, and he brought himself up on the streets of Granor, managing to go by unnoticed to the majority of Granor. He tended to get food by kindly passer bys, usually women, and this is what led to his respect of feminine figures which still lasts to this day. He tended to only make friends with animals, and being so lonely has also left him in believing that make-believe things such as faeries are real, and he has an hidden ambition to find the dragon that is used on Granor's crest.
However, Arthur had a taste for adventure and discovery, and he knew about the great airships and had heard about the stories and the history of the Pirates, Military and Ruthians. One day, when he was 14, one of the great airships came to land into Granor, and on a spur of the moment Arthur stowed away on it.
He was discovered on the ship soon after, and the Captain dragged him in front of the rest of the crew and humiliated him, questioning what he should 'do' with the boy. The Captain himself was a well known pirate and known for being rather ruthless in his ways. After 'wondering' what to do with the boy, and nearly throwing him overboard at one point (aka hanging him over the side), the Captain decided to make Arthur his 'ship boy', and make him spent the next couple of years perform the most humiliating jobs possible, including, sometimes, sexual acts, when the Captain didn't have anyone to please him himself. In the meantime, though, it meant that Arthur learned the ropes of being a pirate, and since he was around the Captain and his headquarters he tended to hear things that no one else would really hear about, such as sources and rumours and reputations. He became skilled quickly, though he tended to not show much skill. However, he hated the man who essentially 'captured' him and put him to humiliation for years, and a horrible, horrible grudge built up over time.
It all came to a head one day when Arthur was about 17, and the ship got backed into a corner just over the capital, Granor. The ship was surrounded on all sides. The crew weren't sure why this was -, and it wasn't until Arthur caught the Captain trying to abandon his own airship did he essentially launch himself at him and they broke into a fight. After all these years, Arthur prevailed and caught him, dragging him back to the crew. They soon found out that the Captain had got himself into some 'nasty' business that caused him to get into deep trouble with both ends of the 'parties', and was planning on just deserting his men and making a new crew for himself, leaving them to their mercy.
Arthur didn't really wait for an answer or a plead for the Captain's own mercy at this point. He slit the Captain's throat, took off the hat and put it on himself, dumping the body overboard for the enemies they were surrounded by. He promptly turned around and started commanding the ship, and by the end of it there was one clean airship and two destroyed Military airships spiraling into the grounds of Granor.
From that day on, Arthur Kirkland became one of the most Prominent pirates known and generally imtimidating across the Lands.

Oh, he couldn't believe this.
They were surrounded on all sides. Trapped in a corner, even. Shouts and gunshots and cries and orders were barelled into the air in a mess of violence, and yet the Captain was nowhere to be seen. Where was he? He was the one who gave the orders. He should be the one sorting out this bloody me--
Oh. Oh.
Growling, Arthur ripped one of the swords from the passing boys, and set off down the length of the ship, dodging and skipping around the other men, all hurling and shouting in their panic - some twisting as a flying piece of metal punched through their internal organs.
He found him. He found him in his headquarters, piling Gold and Papers into a jacket and trunk. He was abandoning them? Arthur, from his position, hissed.
"What do you think you're doing?!"
His Captain turned around, and he blinked at him as though he was stupid.
"Why, getting out of here, m'lad. This ship is no place for a man."
"You're going to leave your own crew to die?"
A smirk suddenly played on the older man's lips. His hand slipped into his jacket.
"Oh, Kirkland. We are pirates. There is no such thing as honour."
In the blink of a second, he'd pulled out a gun and fired it at Arthur.
There was a sudden clatter of swords and gun as Arthur dodged the shot and charged him, cries shouting out between the two as the clash of swords struck as desperately as the commotion going on above deck. The tussle went on for a few seconds. Both of them were skilled at this - in fact, Arthur couldn't quite believe he was managing to beat up the pussy of a man so easily. He wasn't aware he was so good until now.
Right until Arthur pinned the other against the cabin wall, and his expression turne dark. His sword pressed against his 'Captain's' throat, and his lips flickered up into a slow snarl. He growled.
"There is also no such thing as a coward..."
Beneath the sword, the man's eyes widened.
