The carriage ride seemed to take forever. Goodness, it was taking forever. The petite blonde shifted on the carriage to peer out of the window, pale fingers holding tightly to the glass jar in her lap. She was nervous... what if one of these... these caterpillars... what if they escaped? She hadn't been the one to catch them, heavens forbid that... but the servants had all agreed that Herr Carriedo would know what sort of caterpillars these were, and if they were harmful or not. If there was no reason to call for professionals to eradicate the bugs in the garden, then there was no reason to bring this to Herr Beilschmidt's attention.
Lili leaned back as the pathway to Uncle Toni's house finally came into view, her fingers tightening again around the jar. There were eight or so of the brightly striped caterpillars, nibbling on leaves and climbing over each other and the stick that was in the jar as well. There was something about them that was fascinating, to some small degree... but at the same time, Lili was rather unsure about the whole thing.
Finally, the carriage pulled to a stop, and Lili exited, looking around. She supposed she'd try the house first... but if he wasn't there, her next course of action would be the fields. Oh, dear... this could take some time. Hopefully, he was in the house. Tentatively, she knocked on the door. "U-uncle Toni...?"

He was not, in fact, in the house. Antonio was in the back orchard pruning some peach trees. So, since he wasn’t in the house he didn’t heard the knock and especially didn’t hear the tentative calling of his name. He did, however, hear the sound of his own singing as he cheerfully chopped dead or over grown branches off the tree.
Climbing down the ladder, he gathered up the removed branches and carried them toward a much larger pile of drying branches. Once they were all over there, he started up another tree and began the whole process again.

After waiting a moment, Lili came to the conclusion that Antonio wasn't in his house. And he wasn't in the barn... or in the front field... Goodness gracious... she was going to give up if he wasn't here, and perhaps leave him a note to call on her at the house when he had a moment. However, it didn't seem that she'd have to resort to that... She could hear him singing.
There were new branches on that pile. Hesitantly, she crept forward, peering amongst the trees, following the singing until she spotted the ladder. "U-Uncle Toni...?" Her voice was soft, so as not to startle him, but she did need his attention. Tentatively, she placed one hand on the ladder, peering upward. The other hand still held tightly to the jar where the caterpillars crawled.

Antonio glanced down, eyes widening and hand grabbing the branch he’d just cut through to keep it from falling on Lili. He grunted and shoved it in the other direction, the dead wood falling a quiet crack and rustle on the other side of the tree. Tucking the saw into his belt, Antonio climbed down the ladder. “Lili! Hola chica, what are you doing here? *he smiled, hugging her in greeting and checking her over to make sure she wasn’t hurt or upset. The usually shy girl didn’t usually visit unless something big had happened.
Then he noticed the jar in her hand and blinked. “What have you got there chica?” Antonio let her go to bend down some and peer into the jar, humming as he noticed the fuzzy little bugs inside. “Some caterpillars? Where did you get these?” He didn’t think she was the type to go out into the fields or woods to catch bugs. Even if she was he seriously doubted Gilbert would let her. The woods were dangerous and while the fields weren’t too bad, they did have venomous snakes and spiders in them.

"H-hallo, Uncle Toni..." She greeted quietly, peering up at her honorary uncle with a smile. Lili returned Toni's hug, careful not to lose her grip on the jar. She didn't want it to break... and she was, admittedly, still squeamish about letting the little things loose. She didn't want one crawling on her, thanks all the same. "I-I came to see you..." She paused, fretting for a moment that she'd seem silly for her reasons, but... but, well, she was here, and he'd asked, and Uncle Toni wasn't one to pick fun at her for no reason... s-so...
But he'd noticed the jar before she could speak. "Th-the staff... f-found them in our herb garden..." She murmured. "W-we thought that you'd know whether they were harmful or not... i-if they're not... I... I didn't want to trouble Cousin with them." She tucked her chin slightly. "I-I'm sorry to have interrupted you... I... I sh-should have asked when a good time to visit was..."
