The Docks were bursting with activity, pirates walking around while shouting at each other in anger and distress, thieves trying to find their luck with a few spare coins pick pocketed and of course, the lovely ladies from the Red Light District, always there to warmly welcome the sailors back to Atheros. Antonio enjoyed the atmosphere quite immensely, so different from the elegant and uptight Noble District — the Docks were filled to the brim with just the strangest people of the country but yet, the only ones with whom the pirate felt at ease.
There, amidst the mess, lies and pretending, Antonio Carriedo had built himself a reputation of a powerful, yet trustworthy pirate to all who had him on his good side. The man himself wasn't aware of his fame, good or bad, but if the papers around town offering some reward for whoever sunk «el Clavel» were something to go by, his name was certainly known. Still, that hadn't, so far, stopped him from pretending to be a noble so, perhaps, his fame wasn't that grand... They had not taken his house away, so far!
Actually, it even allowed him to enjoy the sea breeze, a minimal free time which he had left for his crew to do as they pleased, and for himself to laze around a bit. Sitting on top of a large crate, Antonio watched the sea while whistling a song, drumming the wood with his fingers. He had heard this strange noble, a dignitary who declared himself "A man of the people", was coming to visit the docks and perhaps make some propaganda, but just who the noble was, or what he wanted there, the captain had no idea.
Well, perhaps this noble was just after his head. Antonio wasn't sure, bur he'd keep an eye on things... Not now, though. First, he would enjoy the breeze, he decided after stealing a tomato from a basket that passed his way. The pirate took a large bite of it, humming at the sweet taste, and then turned his attention to watch the ladies from the Red Light District swinging their skirts — maybe this nobleman was after a bounty? The pirate captain would have to wait to find out first. ((I wasn't sure how to start, which is why it's quite small, but tell me if everything is okay, alright?))

There was something he hated about the docks. Perhaps it was the stench of fish, salt lingering in the air, and the rampant booze that seemed to surround the area. Or perhaps it was the people that crowded around—ragged sailors, pirates galore, the women who sold their bodies for a simple coin, the shady corners where men played games with life or death. None the less, the docks of Atheros were a part of the city that Roderich knew he had to work to fix. He certainly had plenty of ideas at least. Restricting the ability to work as a courtesan, higher taxes placed upon alcohol, and of course, most of the pirates and their crews to be obliterated completely by the naval power.
Today however, that was not at all the Dignitary's intentions. Instead, he came to influence the people he served. The Ruthians were gaining more and more power within the city, and certainly the docks of Atheros were filled with their influence. So instead Roderich planned more on appealing to the people in a way that seemed to often work with the less fortunate and the greedy: money.
He stood before the masses, standing tall on a platform, speaking out to them. "My dear people of Atheros. I come before you today to discuss a matter that is vital to our city's safety. No doubt you have heard of the attacks made by the Ruthians to destroy our city. I am here to tell you to be cautious at all times. The government as well has authorized me offer out rewards for Intel concerning any Ruthian actions or plans that may be in the process. The offer is 500 for minute details and 1000 for important information."
And he could see it in their eyes; the interest, the planning and scheming. These people had not a care about protecting their own, but rather make fortune off the sufferings of others. And the Aristocrat didn't care, for as long as he got his information and it was proven valid, then that was all that mattered.
Now I totally made up that monitary thing, since I doubt the big cheese would be pleased with me making those offers. But I figured it just fit for the roleplay at least. Also, sorry it might take me so long to respond. I have a class that is taking up all my time with writing.

That was fast.
Antonio had been munching on his tomato quite happily, waiting for the said noble to show up as he stared at the sea, when a loud voice caught his attention. The pirate jumped in his seat and turned to face the speaker, definitely curious, and listening carefully to every word that came out of the Noble's mouth. It was the chance of a lifetime to know just what the upper class was up to, and perhaps, even gain something himself.
Or so he wanted. Antonio twitched his nose at the talk of Ruthians again — it was probably just a random noble trying to get money chasing after criminals, he guessed, until he saw just who was the man speaking to the people. That pointed nose, the dark hair carefully slicked back, it was all to familiar to the other, but it couldn't be him, could it? See, when Antonio was a child, and still lived in the Fernández manor, he had a friend who always came to visit him, a boy called Roderich Edelstein. They would play together and talk for hours, pretending to be adults, or warriors, even kings. The other was always a bit reluctant to fight and engage in crazy running, but they has been good friends for as long as Antonio lived with his parents in the Noble District.
After that, they had lost all contact, and to find his childhood friend so close again was quite unexpected, not to say hilarious. What would he think of his friend, gone from potential bureaucrat to pirate? Antonio doubted that Roderich would simply smile and pat him in the back, but what other option did he have? Lie and pretend to be a noble, well, he certainly could, but that would backfire too soon… Still, there were so many things he could, and wanted to ask his old friend, hear from him! They needed to talk, even if for that, Antonio had to lie. The captain swallowed the last bit of his tomato, wiped his mouth clean and then walked towards the other.
"I have something!" He spoke up quickly, all of the crowd's attention focused on him. "Perhaps you could come here and then we talk at my ship?" His smile was bright as he looked up at the platform, searching for the other's eyes — were they still that bright and strange purple? He hoped, in a strange way, that yes. Would Roderich recognize him, however? Well, that, Antonio had to wait and see.
