By now, Tino really should have known better than to accept the Dane’s dares. Especially so when they involved Berwald. The blonde man wasn’t sure where he’d heard of the ‘pocky game’, or how he’d learnt to play it. The Fin wasn’t sure he wanted to know, either. Since the household didn’t have any of the chocolate-covered pretzels however, he had substituted the snack for saliamakki. His violet eyes focused on the baby-blue box and he gave a nervous swallow. Taking a breath, he began his descent down the hallway, trying to locate the Swede in question. Peeking shyly around the corner, his heart skipped a beat. Sitting in his usual chair was Berwald, newspaper in hand. “Ah, Su-San…” Tino used the nickname to get his attention as he approached, heart beating faster. “Mmm? T’no?” Berwald set the paper aside and blinked, the other was holding a box of saliamakki-? He watched as Tino’s cheeks flushed darker pink. “I was wondering if ah, you’d want to play a little game with me.” The Swede arched an eyebrow as the Fin fumbled with the box, eventually opening it. He pulled out a singular piece of the candy and gently placed himself onto Berwald’s lap. That action caused the Swede’s cheeks to flush light pink as well.
“Wh’t are you doing?” He murmured as Tino bit onto one end. “…Bite onto the other end.” He explained softly and leaning forewords, the taller male did so. “…now eat.” Tino instructed and took a small bite, leaning further forewords. Berwald did the same, and in this fashion the candy got shorter, and shorter, and shorter…their faces got closer and closer. Tino’s face went darker red, until at last…their lips met. Tino felt his heartbeat skyrocket and he closed his eyes, quivering just a little. The Swede gently put his arms around the Fin’s small waist, holding him there. Berwald pulled away for a moment, and Tino opened one lilac eye and looked up at him, face bright red. “Berwald…?” he whispered. The Swede felt his face flush a little darker. “You’re much too cute, T’no.” He sighed softly and held the other male close, listening to his heartbeat. “…And, d’nt take Mathias’ dares ‘nymore.” Tino felt himself blush again. “….Yes Berwald.” He murmured and then the Swede let go, and Tino got up. Before the shorter blonde left, he gave the man a smile and a simple phrase:
“Jag älskar dig, Berwald.”
And at that, the stonefaced man smiled.
