° P-ersonality ||
Tino is the mother-figure of his ‘family’. He’s gentle and sweet, always making sure that everyone’s alright and often taking over a large portion of the chores. He is easily embarrassed and is slightly naïve, often believing things that usually aren’t true (rumors and the like). The Finnish man is slightly childish as well, and overall very happy. Or at least, he appears happy externally. Only a few have seen him cry, those he trusts very much. Once you’re his friend, you’ll remain a friend for years to come. A good example of this is his long-lasting friendship with Eduard, Toris, and Raivis. He met the three in Ivan’s house and has been protective of them ever since. He couldn’t stand watching how they were treated.
Even if he doesn’t know you, he’ll greet you with a cautious, friendly smile and ask you a few questions. If he deems you safe, then he’ll view you as an acquaintance. Moving up through his ranks of friendship is very easy, he’s a trusting soul. Tino often sees people for the beauty they have inside, not out. He’s also an optimist, believing that everything will turn out to be alright in the end, no matter the situation. It was this way of thinking that enabled him to escape from Ivan, that and the fact that he had to return, for his brothers, and for Berwald.
Internally the man is a worrier. He’s almost constantly worried for his family members and for random people he meets via work. Since there are a lot of drunk, lonely souls in bars, it usually isn’t good for him psychologically. He’s very protective of Nikolai and Egil, and around Berwald he’s a lot more flustered and apologetic. Around Mathias, he’s cheerful and rather giggly. He will deny being Berwald’s ‘wife’, though there is a bit of romantic tension between the two. After you’ve been with someone for so long, feelings are sure to grow.

° H-istory ||
Tino grew up in Berwald’s household after his parents passed away, just after his second birthday. He’s stuck next to the Swedish man for as long as he can remember, he’s always felt safe next to him. When Berwald was taken away from his household by the Danish pirates, Tino got taken along for the ride as well. While Berwald got put to work as a simple deckhand, Tino was stuck with the women of the crew (Who were all kidnapped or went willingly), and there he learned how to cook and clean and care for the sick. He was forced to watch from afar as Berwald grew increasingly more and more miserable. The boy wished he could do something, but there was nothing to be done from so far away.
Almost a decade later when the ship landed Zequea, Berwald made a break for it, taking Tino with him (Who was 15 at the time). The two luckily escaped and met up with Nikolai, Egil (Iceland), and Mathias, who were running a bar in the frozen wasteland a few weeks after the escape, though Berwald was hesitant to join them (especially since he’d been forced to work all his life). Tino however trusted the three; he was the one who actually ended up convincing Berwald that it wouldn’t be all that bad working with them. And plus, it would get them much-needed food. In no time, Tino bonded with the other three, though he kept a close eye on Mathias and Berwald, who didn’t seem to get along as well as he would have liked.
And then, a few years later, it happened. The Finnish man was carried away in the chaos of one late night by Ivan. No one knows why the Russian man did it, but Tino knows he’ll never forget what happened to him in the cold, rank basement of Ivan’s house. To this very day, he still wakes up in a fevered sweat, eyes wide. No doubt it will take him a while to fully recover and be a normal member of the family again. Though he is grateful that Ivan didn’t take any of the rest of his family members along as well. He wouldn’t have wanted them to go through that nightmare.

° R-oleplay example ||
Violet eyes glanced from side to side, and with a pale hand, the platinum-blonde pushed a few locks of hair out of his face and behind an ear, a worried smile upon his pink lips. “R-Really sir, I think you’ve had enough.” He suggested and fidgeted in place. Of course, he was in a dress today. Ironic how that worked. “Why don’ yeh get m’nother beer, sweetheart?” The man slurred in response and swayed. Tino’s fidgeting increased. “No sir, I can’t do that, you’ve had more than enough for tonight.” His voice became a little sterner and he forced himself to stand up straighter. “What’s a pret’y girl like yeh doin’ in this—hic—bar an’ways, hun?” He asked and sat up straighter as well, the Finnish man’s expression blanching. “P-Pardon?” Now it was getting shady, he needed to get away, and fast. “Ya heard meh.” He grinned, “It’d be much more fun a’ m’house, girlie. I’d show yeh a reallll…hic…good time.” That did it.
“Berwald!” Within seconds, the Swedish man was by Tino’s side, his usually blank face contorted into a dark glare. He watched the drunkard’s expression blanch as he gave the nod to the Swede, the signal for removal. As the man was tossed out into the falling snow, Tino sighed internally. He hadn’t meant to get that frightened, but the last time he’d been talked to like that….The blonde felt a shudder threaten to travel up his spine, but he pushed it away. No need to break down in the bar. With a smile, he half-skipped along to the other tables, gathering orders.
He had work to do. There was no time for idle thoughts, no time to reflect. No, not now. That would all be solved later on, when he was walking out in the falling night snow, breathing the cold night air. That was when the man would think. It would be when his thoughts were the most clear and concise as well. That thought made him smile softly, a real smile. Even though he knew it was dangerous, he had a way to defend himself. The blonde knew he couldn’t rely on the others forever. That was why he had bought the gun, a means of self-defense.
Or so he told himself.
