° D-efining features || His lack of height and rather unusually colored eyes are the first things people tend to notice when they look at Raivis. Surprising, the boy has no prominent scars from accidents despite being quite clumsy.
° A-dditional features || The boy has a very slight build which he tries to over-compensate for by wearing clothing too large for him. It doesn't work. And, as practically required by his profession, he has timepieces all over his person. A particular favorite of his and his most prized possession is a fine gold pocket watch { www.tp178.com/tjn/gp/wow/esmeral.jpg } that he always keeps close to his heart. Of course, keeping all the watches on him gives him the appearance of shaking more prominently than he actually does.
Aside from the watches upon his person, he dresses quite plainly, preferring loose fitting clothes in light, plain colors and he is never without a ribbon he uses as a loose tie. Of course, on formal occasions, he wears a hand-me down maroon military suit with gold fringe at the shoulder pads.

° J-ob || Watchmaker
° R-ank || Currently, he is an apprentice to his grandfather.
° R-eason for current profession || What better job for a secret perfectionist than dealing with time itself? It gives him a bit of pride that he has a minor amount of control of over time itself and, in fact, in trying times, it gives him a sense of comfort. The winding and unwinding of watches is near therapeutic to him. Another reason for his job choice? His mother's side of the family owns a small watchmaking business and, as the sole male in his generation, it his his duty to pass on the trade.

° B-irth town || Zequean

° P-ersonality ||
Quiet, meek and always keen to avoid conflicts, to the very core Raivis is a gentle soul. He has non-existing self esteem but, despite that, he is an optimist. It takes him a significantly sizable amount of time to warm up to people but once he does, he is the epitome of loyalty and, to be honest, fairly clingy. Yes, the boy will have a near panic attack if stranger brushes by him but at the same time, once he trusts someone, he will near hang on them like an extra limb.
Despite Raivis' natural inclination to be a pushover, he also has the magical ability to say the exact wrong thing at very often the worst time possible. It's nearly an art form!
Another essential part of his personality is his realist nature versus his inner romanticism. Raivis very well knows one cannot survive of mere dreams and fairy dust alone but, oh how he yearns for someone to whisk him off into the sunset and for them to live happily ever after forever more! Often, he in the middle of doing tediously practical things such as cooking, he finds himself drifting into elaborate day dreams. Of course, more often than not, this leads to minor accidents. The romance novels and poetry he reads clearly do not help the situation.
Another unfortunate trait of the romantic side of him is how easily Raivis' heart is set all aflutter by simple asks of kindness. At any given time, he harbors at least one minor crush who, when confronted by them, he is rendered completely incapable of basic human functions.
Despite all this silliness, the young man isn't all sugar and sunshine. He is very well aware of his cutesy appearance and, though he is ashamed of his feminine, young features, he absolutely will use them to his advantage if presented the opportunity.
Raivis' timidity is chronic to the point of which, if in a dark alley, he will develop a fear of his own shadow and proceed to give himself a near heart attack every time he sees it.
° L-ikes ||
•Reading, especially romance novels{the mushier the better}, poetry and old folktales
•Singing and dancing
•Flowers {though occasionally he acts a little. . . odd around them}
•The sun's gentle warmth on a warm afternoon
•Alcohol, especially beer and vodka
•Having his hand held
•Quiet places
•Being nurtured. Despite his 15 years, Raivis is still very much like a small child in that he emotionally depends on people to take care of him and comfort him.
° D-islikes ||
•Overly touchy strangers
•Asserting himself
•Milk
•Storms
•Having his head pushed down upon
•Those whom take advantage of the meekness or weakness of others
•Farm animals
° F-ears ||
•Public speaking: rather self explanatory for someone with a stutter.
•Being abandoned
•Never growing taller
° L-esser known facts ||
•He, despite his lack of confidence and horrible luck, is an eternal optimist. Part of it is a survival technique and part of it is a genuine belief that, if you are a good person, everything will work out for you.
•Shy as he is, play a folk-ish tune and he will dance. It’s far too hard for him to resist. He is quite good at it too.
•Raivis is far more manipulative than meets the eye. He knows his appearance lulls people into a sense of security and he is wise enough to take advantage of that when needed.
•He has absolutely impeccable handwriting. Raivis takes secret pride in every flourish his pen makes.
° G-oals ||
•Become self sufficient
•Gain confidence in himself
•Find people he trusts who accept him for who he is, flaws and all

° H-istory ||
Raina Galante was seventeen when she fell in love with an equally young officer in the military. She and he had a rather short but incredibly sweet courtship which resulted in, well, Raivis. Unfortunately, the stigma of being an unwed mother led to quite a few unkind words from her former friends. Raina and her beau planned to run away to Cheeler as soon as he was released from duty. Unfortunately, as it is oft said, the path of true love never did run smooth. The weekly letters with pressed flowers and sweet words abruptly stopped a month before the baby was due. Raina was heartbroken and extremely confused. Hadn't he promised they would be wed after the baby was born?
It took two weeks before the news reached her that during a small skirmish with a group of rebels, her beloved's life was taken. Even to this day, Raina refuses to speak about it, not even mentioning his name in fear the wounds to her heart will stab anew. Still, she always wears a ring they found on him on a necklace, close to her heart.
She did move to Cheeler after giving birth to Raivis and promptly moved in with her parents. Of course, she had to pay rent but it was far better than staying in Zequean and being surrounded by painful memories. To this day, she helps out with making meals and cleaning the house and watchmaking shop attached to it.
Grandpapa and Grandmama, though harsh at first {especially Grandpapa}do tend to spoil Raivis, giving him sweets quite frequently and near constantly ruffling his hair to the point where it began to curl. Though the watchmaking business always does well, they didn't have enough money for proper, formal schooling for the boy. However, that isn't to say Raivis wasn't uneducated. Between his books and his mother and her parents, Raivis is far more book-smart than one would expect.
As to his interactions with his peers? Besides being teased for being fatherless, quite short and his stutter, life isn't too bad. Physical bullying like shoving doesn't happen to the boy though, he would appreciate it if people stopped using his head as elbow rest. Raivis managed to befriend a few local kids who he fondly thinks of as the brothers he never had.

° R-oleplay example || The morning had started out ordinarily enough. Burnt eggs and equally burnt sausage to compliment just as burnt fingers from attempts at cooking. Accidentally walking outside in nothing but a rather feminine nightshirt with only the breeze to tell him that wearing trousers would be the suggested route. To complete the routine? Raivis looked across the street and fell madly in puppy love.
Last week it was the blacksmith's apprentice, the week before? A young girl with a distinct pirate air about her. All it took was a second for the infatuation to sink in and before the blond gathered up enough nerve to leave an anonymous bouquet, his heart was entrance with another. Crushes were to Raivis as illegal substances were to others; addictive, most certainly unhealthy but with a rush of sorts.
After wasting 5 to 10 minutes in a cloying fantasy world, the young man clumsily spent the rest of the day trying to recover. Spilled milk, broken plates, stubbed toes? All in a day's work.
Tinkering with a small watch his grandfather entrusted him to fix, Raivis only dreamed that the irregular ticking of a watch, which can be so easily fixed with some rewinding and a little oil, was like a human heart. He got caught up in wishing he could so easily reset himself as to not be a fool and not be so often the definition of a blubbering idiot. Alas, that was another fantasy, just as unrealistic as him growing a foot and becoming a Casanova or being whisked off into the sunset by a prince or maybe a swashbuckler.
"If only," he sighed to himself, just realizing he had smeared grease up and down his favorite shirt.
Grandfather just looked upon him and let out a sigh of his own. 'I wonder if entrusting the business to this boy is really such a good idea.'
