Francis caught the hand in his hair and gripped it tightly. His apprehension was mounting every minute; they were wasting time, lying here on the street while Lili was being terrorized...
"No, no, you don't understand," said Francis desperately, shaking his head. It proved to be a bad idea, since a strong wave of dizziness overtook him. When it passed, he tried to raise himself again.
"It wasn't a pirate attack, Arthur. Pirates didn't invade my home and take Lili, so it couldn't be anyone you know. They were Ruthians, and you know what they do to nobles!"
Lili being kidnapped was horrifying enough, but in the hands of the faction that hated what Lili was - it was unbearable. Francis tried not to remember just what the Ruthians had once done to him.

Arthur slams the other against the floor, pinning him there. He's getting frustrated himself.
"I know they weren't pirates, you idiot. They were too subtle for pirates. I'm telling you I know it is. It's Alfred, surely you bloody remember who that is."
His voice has tightened up, and despite what he knows about the boy, he was panicking. What was he trying to do? What was he going to do?
He'd never had to face it really till now, or, at least, had been immensely in denial. Alfred was a Ruthian, and while they were a little more sympathetic than say, The military and especially the Draconians...
They were enemies.
His expression tightening, he pushes down on the wound further, forcing himself to concentrate on it.

It was difficult to keep his focus now; Francis' eyes kept drooping and his body was eager to dive into unconsciousness. But not yet, willed Francis. Not yet. He tried to keep himself awake by forming their next tactic.
"We cannot chase after them now," he said with some difficulty. It was painful to even breathe. "They did an excellent job hindering us, damn that Ruthian..."
He glared down at his injury. "We have to find Gilbert, and quickly," he continued. "He is Lili's guardian, and has the resources to track down who took her. We can only retrieve her with his help."
Francis tried not to think about how upset his friend would be upon learning of the events that befell his beloved cousin. If Francis was lucky and Gilbert merciful, Francis would live with his skin intact.

Antonio, having done his best to not draw Arthur’s attention to avoid any conflict with him, finally spoke up. “You need to be tended mi amigo, leave telling Gilbert to me, si? It was a masquerade, you couldn’t have known who was under that mask since he doesn’t like for her to attend your parties.” Green eyes flickered up to look at Arthur, then back to Francis.
“We’ll let this man here look after you and I’ll take care of our dear friend, okay?” Standing, Antonio dusted off his knees and butt then looked sharply at Arthur. “Make sure he gets treated. Francis is a dear friend of mine and several other important people. I would hate for them to find out you left him to die.” Not that he expected Arthur to do that with the way he was fretting over the injured blond.
Forgoing a reply, Antonio stepped away to find Gilbert. Hopefully the other man was at home by now. He didn’t really like his chances of finding him on patrol if he wasn’t.

In the split second that the two uninjured men's gazes men, Francis thought he saw a flicker of recognition. But the thought was forgotten when Francis felt a sharp spike of pain.
"My friend, wait!" Francis called, trying to sit up again. "Wait! Take - take me with you! This is my fault - I am the one who should tell Gilbert. And I cannot go back to the mansion right now. I cannot fight off the remaining Ruthians in my state, and there is no other place I can recover."
Turning to Arthur, he grasped Arthur's shoulder to haul himself up. The movement was a little dizzying, but he remained sitting.
"Arthur - I don't know how Gilbert will receive you. I don't want to risk him capturing you."

Arthur turns his head to the man addressing him, and his eyes narrow. He's practically got Francis in his arms at this point.
"What do you think I'm bloody going to do? Look like I'm healing him and then kill him? You know I woudn't waste my time with something so stupidly trivial." He really wasn't in the mood to talk or argue with hardly anyone. However, when he looks down to Francis, his expression involuntarily softens.
"S-Stay still, silly bugger -- are you mad? You can barely pull yourself up to sitting. You need to get shelter and healed."
At the mention of Gilbert, he rolled his eyes.
"I'm sure Antonio can help back me up, even if it's just to deposit you, yes?" He turns his head again, looking at the other. "At the very least, long enough to run for the hills without being shot."

Despite himself, despite the madness and desperation of the situation, Francis found himself chuckling. He sagged against Arthur, resting his head over the pirate's heart.
"I won't let him shoot you," he said, wincing slightly. "Just...promise to be on your best behavior, won't you?"
He clutched Arthur's shoulder with one hand and reached out for Antonio with the other. It was going to be agony having to walk, but at least his friend's residence was not far at all.
"I think I might need help to stand."

Face twisting into an uneasy frown, Antonio moved to help Francis up. “I don’t like this mi amigo. You should see a doctor in the medical district at the least. I’m not even sure Gilbert will be home at this time. He couldn’t have been when Lili left the house.” He avoided saying anything to Arthur and instead hooked his arm around Francis’ waist, the blond’s arm being dragged over his shoulder.
“You especially shouldn’t come if your….friend might get shot at by Gilbert.” Of course if the albino had known back before they were friends just who Toni was he probably would have shot him too.

Arthur shakes his head, pulling a soft hiss.
"Words sting, Antonio. I have a name, you know I have a name. Use it." He frowns at Antonio removing Francis' grip from him, and without really thinking, he gently placed his hand on Francis' arm. He glares a bit at the ex-pirate, underneath a cool look.
"I'm not leaving the idiot here, if that's what you're thinking. I'm involved now." He doesn't quite realise the protectiveness of his words yet.

Arthur's words confirmed Francis' inkling of the two knowing each other, but he pushed the matter to the back of his mind. There was something else he had to address.
"I'm not an idiot - ah!" He barely bit back a cry. As gentle as his friend was being, every movement strained his wound. Cursing the Ruthian who stabbed him under his breath, Francis shifted his weight to rest against Antonio.
"Arthur?"
Francis held out his hand out to the pirate with a questioning expression.
