Huffing, Antonio looked away from his old lover. Taking Francis’ weight with practiced ease, he scowled into the burning fire of the once opulent mansion. “Fine Arthur, but I think it’s more important for Francis to get patched up than it is for him to find Gilbert!” His friend had been stabbed and he was more worried about Gil being mad at him than bleeding to death on Antonio.
“Aren’t you his….lover now? Should you be more concerned with the gaping wound bleeding everywhere?”

At the mention of the word 'lover', Arthur's expression blazes almost as red and hot as the fire behind them. He takes a step back.
"Lovers?! No! He's just a..... friend, who I owe a lot to." Yes, he could at least place that they were 'friends' now, he supposed. The term still felt weird to say to his lips.
"And what do you think I'm bloody proposing?! Being with mr military man would be the safest bet, considering that it is FRANCIS' home that is burning behind us right now! That will cause a lot of bloody attention, namely that of MORE ruthians and more random thugs who will do a kill just for a bit of quick cash. The Military's the safest bet for him right now, and to get healed up. Ruthian ccould be targeting allies or other Noble's manors for all we know."

Arthur's vehement reaction to the word lover hit Francis harder than a ton of bricks. Was the idea that distasteful? At least Arthur clarified what that show of gentle care towards Francis was - to pay the debt he imagined he owned to Francis.
Francis' outstretched hand fell limply to his side. He hid his expression by turning away and tugging Antonio toward the direction of Gilbert's residence.
"Let's just go, Antonio," he said dully. "Any more time we waste here is more time we leave Lili alone in danger. I can recover at Gilbert's while you can help him look for his ward."

"W-Wait! Bloody hell---" he grumbles, striding up to the two. "I bloody save my life and you decide to bugger off?" He folds his arms, stuffily, and looks to the side.
"Er, And there's no way I'm letting Alfred get away with any of this. I happen to know Lilli and he just set the house and shot a very good friend of mine..."
Feeling a little out of place all of a sudden, he just stomps off ahead of the other two, assumingly to 'keep watch' as they move.

Francis scowled at Arthur's back. Now the pirate had the nerve to act slighted. He clenched his fist, but loosened it as he sighed. There was no time for this now.
With his friend's help, Francis took a tentative step forward. He tried not to wince and took another. At the rate he was going, they were going to take the whole night traveling the three blocks to their destination.
Francis gritted his teeth and quickened his pace.

“I’m not protecting you if Gilbert decides it’s better a dead pirate than one running around.” Which was a total lie. He’d definitely try to protect Arthur, if only because of his affection for Francis. He didn’t want his friend to be any more upset than Arthur’s careless words were making him. Taking as much of his friend’s weight as he could without outright carrying Francis, Antonio slowly moved them toward Gilbert’s.
He chuckled quietly and wrapped his arm carefully around the blond, holding him up. “Don’t take his words personally mi amigo, that chicito is just obtuse with his affections.” He said it quietly, hoping Arthur wouldn’t be listening too closely.

...For once he truly cursed himself for always choosing to walk everywhere he went.
Just let it be said, most nights, most patrols, were uneventful. It was an evening that had seemed like one of those many, and as Gilbert's shift was coming to a close and he heading home, there wasn't a stir of any kind to report. The albino had been half way home, having a one sided conversation with Gilbird XLIV, although he never let that deter him from have very long conversations, when he heard the dull sound echoing in the distance. He paused, about to ignore it when he heard another...
His sides were burning by the time he darted past his own home, feeling secure in knowing Lili was safely inside, his eyes locked on the tower of smoke that was growing as it rose into the sky. It disturbed him greatly...Francis' place was over there. And that dumbass was having some kind of ball tonight if the albino remembered correctly. "Be okay, be okay, be okay!"
Rounding a corner, the military officer, danced around the bodies he nearly slammed into. About to give some quick apology, Gilbert did a double take realizing he knew two of the three men. "Anton! Francis!!! Scheiße. What happened?" His voice rose with a note of panic as he quickly took in the sight before him. "Antonio what happen- Who?" His red gaze fell onto the man he did not know and he bared his teeth in a snarl. "Who the hell are you?" Set on edge by the sight before him, and the confusion of it all, Gilbert deliberately moved himself between his friends and the stranger. Grasping the smaller man's shirt he yanked him harshly before shoving him away. "Somebody tell me what the fuck is going on!"

Francis had just recovered from the shock of nearly being barreled over when he became aware of two things: one, that Gilbert somehow materialized, as if summoned by the necessity in their intentions, and two, that said newly-arrived best friend was manhandling Arthur.
"No, no, Gilbert, stop!" Francis cried out. "He's a - he's a friend." There was some bite to the word, but Francis plowed on. "Never mind him, Gilbert - Lili!"
His eyes widened with urgency. "Lili - they've taken her. Ruthians," clarified Francis, slightly breathless from trying to talk fast. "We have to save her!"

"Bloody hell, use one of your braincells would you?!" He hisses back, stumbling back as he glares at the other. This must be Gilbert. He wasn't surprised; he was sure he'd seen the man on patrols before.
"If I'd attacked these two men, do you think I'd be walking the bloody streets on them without keeping an eye on them? Don't be stupid."
However, he does step back, within Gilbert's view, and holds his hands up to show he wasn't intending to try anything out. Unfortunately, this also revealed a knife and gun he had tucked away in his belt, since Francis still had ahold of his coat.

“Gilbert, mein Bruder, calm down por favor and Francis stop it, you‘ll make it worse.” He grunted, shifting his friend so he could face Gilbert better. “Hermano, Bruder, Francis was stabbed and Ruthians have stolen Lili away. She snuck out and was masked at the party. We need to find her before anything bad happens and Francis must see a doctor soon. I don’t know how bad he was hurt but this idiot would not go and see someone about it before he’d talked to you. As for eyebrows, I’ll vouch for him tonight. Por favor, we don’t have time for fighting!”
